NAME? reference / moving between users
If you create a spreadsheet that is going to be moved between users or supplied to a user who does not have a PaXcel license then you should take the following points and issues in to consideration:-
ISSUE: When you click on a PaXcel toolbar icon nothing happens
ISSUE: After re-installing PaXcel and starting Microsoft Excel the PaXcel toolbar is not available and PaXcel does not appear under the View | Tool bar menu option.
When attempting to link the PaXcel add-in into Excel, after clicking the browse button and selecting the Paxcel?.xla file and then clicking the OK button on the Excel Add-in’s screen, I receive the message “PDIPaXcel?.dll (where ? is the version number) missing. This should be installed into a directory which exists in the path environment.”
If a report created by PDI Spirit requires an ODBC connection, or you are using PDI CRM, then an ODBC entry needs to be created. A Windows ODBC connection, must connected to a named database within Pervasive and the Pervasive database is named and linked to the existing tables within the PCC (Pervasive control centre).
Pervasive or Btrieve data stores their data in a long string, Data Definition Files (ddf) (either external or internal) are then used by applications to split this data in their respective fields.
